Howards director joins Homes24.co.uk

Martin Cunningham, former director Norfolk-based Howards estate agency, has been appointed commercial director of property portal Homes24.co.uk.

Cunningham (pictured) joins the Archant media group in the newly-created position to develop its property website as a regional portal for estate and letting agents.

"Because I've got a background in estate agency, I really think I've got a good handle on what agents really need," he says. "My first mission is looking at the management information is increasing the quality of the property listings on the site."

Cunningham initially joined Archant on a temporary contract after being made redundant at Howards in November 2008.

In addition to his seven and a half years as chief executive of Howards, Cunningham's background includes 20 years at Countrywide's Bairstow Eves and Abbotts offices in Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk. He was also the director of the National Homes Network, a network of independent estate agents, until his redundancy last year.
