Globrix strikes deal with Vebra - for a fee
Globrix has struck a deal with Vebra to allow agents to continue uploading properties for free, but at a cost to the portal.
As The Negotiator reported on November 7, Globrix was last week locked in negotiations with Vebra about the software provider’s alleged attempt to charge agents to list properties on the portal.
Some 120,000 properties were understood to have been pulled from Globrix, with agents expected to be charged to upload them back onto the portal via Vebra software.
Daniel Lee, chief executive of Globrix, winner of the Estate agency service firm of the year award at The Negotiator Awards 2008, says: “We’ve come to an arrangement that means agents can get on the portal for free.
“We are paying some kind of fee, but I can’t say anything about it as it’s confidential.”
A statement from Vebra says: “Vebra and Globrix have agreed terms to facilitate the upload of property and agent data from Vebra.com to Globrix.com to allow agents to receive free traffic from the portal.
“Our customers will be able to authorise the upload of their data to Globrix at no additional cost to them. The agreement now in place will put the agent back in control of their own data and provide an additional distribution channel to increase their online presence.”
