NFOPP approves NAEA licensing
The National Federation of Property Professionals has approved criteria for the National Association of Estate Agents' licensing framework.
As The Negotiator revealed last week, NAEA chief executive Peter Bolton King said that licensing for association members could be implemented "in weeks" if the criteria was approved at the National Property Professionals' board meeting on Monday.
Bolton King says: "In principle it is approved. It is a very exciting development, based on members' feedback.
"We expect it to start by the end of the year."
But the framework has not won universal industry approval.
One source says: "Why reinvent the wheel? And what does it mean without Government approval?
"What we should all be concentrating on is members who are not affiliated to any professional body."
