House sales plummet 80%, Land Registry data reveals
House sales in July plummeted by nearly 80% year-on-year, data from the Land Registry reveals.
So far, only 21,749 sales have been recorded for this July in England and Wales – a fall of 79% compared with July 2007 (101,582), according to analysis by industry pundit Henry Pryor.
Brighton-based agents sold the highest number of properties (51) in July, followed by Wimbledon (47) and Croydon (46).
The data also reveals that more than 500 postcodes have not recorded any sales for two consecutive months.
