AHIPP bolsters services ahead of fee hike
The Association of Home Information Pack Providers is on the verge of launching a suite of services ahead of its increase in member fees.
AHIPP’s new services include a credit facility to allow all members to offer clients deferred payment services.
Speaking exclusively to The Negotiator, Paul Broadhead, deputy director general of the trade body, says “All we are trying to do is create a level playing field for our members.”
He says AHIPP will apply to three recently appointed financial institutions for funding on members’ behalf, to enable them to offer clients a more flexible fee structure.
AHIPP is also making Professional Indemnity cover available to all members, with the aim of enabling smaller members to transact higher volumes of business.
He says: “The HIP Code requires £2m worth of PI cover per case, which is quite a big ask for oneman bands.
“It’s about making PI available to all members at a reasonable cost, irrespective of the volume of business they conduct.”
Legal services will compkete the service offerings. AHIPP is about to appoint a law firm, which members will be able to contact to check the validity of data being provided in HIPs.
The trade body also plans to appoint the firm to create a legal summary of information provided within a HIP, for members to insert into their packs.
As announced at the beginning of the year, with effect from July 1, AHIPP‘s affiliate fees will increase from £2,000 to £2,400; associate fees from £5,000 to £6,000 and executive fees from £10,000 to £12,000.
Broadhead insists there are no plans for further increases for at least another year.
